It is no secret that here at IO Kids Design we are great fans of plywood. We love it for its easy-going nature, for its simplicity, warmth and resilience and for its willingness to bend, flex and mould into..well just about anything.
Plywood has often being described as the most modern design artefact: it is a material born of natural wood and formed by vigorous industrial processes but whilst so many manufacturing processes obliterate or conceal materials, the bending and moulding of plywood exploits and enhances the very essence of this special material, bringing out the grain, texture and natural imperfections whilst at the same time transforming it into an amazing product with a new identity.
So this week we bow to glorious plywood and give you a roundup of 10 great pieces of plywood furniture that we absolutely love!
